About the Wine
Our 2016 Sangiacomo Vineyard Chardonnay is sourced from grapes grown at the Kiser Vineyard off Arnold Drive in the cool and windy Sonoma Carneros AVA just north of San Pablo Bay. This venerable appellation is highly regarded as one of the finest places in California to grow cool-climate chardonnay. Using grapes sourced from the highly desired and low-yielding Old Wente selection, with its characteristic uneven berry sizing, allows our winemaker to craft a wine that gives a true sense of place. This library release is perfect for those who appreciate the character and complexity of mature wine. You’ll notice that the wine’s primary flavors have become less dominant with aging, creating entirely new aromas and flavors to enjoy.
